Bedroom | Megan (15) is sitting at a desk writing a letter. It is the morning. A rucksack is leaning on her bed and a hoodie inside a coat is on her bed. She takes a pad out and rips a page from it. She gets a pen and begins to write. The pen does not work and so she gets a new one. She finishes writing the letter and puts it in to an envelope. She opens her Rucksack. She walks over to her wardrobe and grabs all her clothes. She then puts them in her rucksack. She then puts the envelope in it. She grabs the coat that was on her bed and puts it on. She then puts her rucksack on. She looks at a picture of her family then puts her keys next to it. | Parents arguing downstairs, quiet. Soundtrack. Rainfall on window. | |
Small Landing | She then walks out the room and shuts the door. | Parents arguing downstairs increase in volume. Rainfall on windows gets quieter. | |
Stair well | Her sister (5) is standing on the opposite landing in pyjamas with a teddy bear. | Parents arguing louder. Rainfall continues. Sister says ‘Where are you going?’ | |
Stairs | Megan begins to walk down the stairs. | Parents’ arguing gets much louder. Can hardly hear the rain. | |
Hall | Her sister runs across on to the other landing and sits and watches Megan walk down stairs. Megan opens the front door and leaves. | Parents’ arguing still loud. Rain gets slightly louder. | |
Porch | Megan shuts the door and walks up the drive to the road. | Parents arguing a murmur. Sounds of trees and wind and rain. A few car sounds as they go past and the distant sound of a police alarm. |
